Founded in 1987, Antique
Restoration Studios specializes in the
skilled conservation of Antique Musical
Boxes, Furniture and related decorative
objects made prior to 1830. This includes
Gilded Looking Glasses, Convex Mirrors,
Argand lamps, Sinumbra Lamps.
All work is warranted the first time using
time-correct materials and methods: The best
conservation adds value to your fine object
in many ways. Our studios are located near
the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
It truly is impossible to estimate a
restoration project without seeing the
project firsthand and even then the work
involved may reveal complications after
beginning however our fees will never exceed
our initial estimate. We can provide written
appraisal work for our local clients.
Douglas Wiggins has been working in
conservation since 1987; starting as a hobby
but soon developing into a full-time
business since 1989. He’s received training
through apprenticeships and study with a
wide array of museum and private
conservators, restorers and craftsmen. |
